The following pages are included in my website (see navigation at the top of the page):
ARTWORK: The artwork on this slide show is done by hand (not digital). This includes acrylic paintings, collages, prints, and watercolors. E-LEARNING: Articulate Storyline samples mainly of e-Learning where the user is able to physically interact with the material on screen to guide their learning. DESIGN AND ILLUSTRATION: While some of the artworks are created by hand, I use digital tools to create most of the work on this page. A few are graphics created using layers and saved in video format. RESEARCH AND PRESENTATIONS: Presentations at conferences and journal articles relate to my interest in using technology in various ways to engage the learner. My research focus is on engagement of the learner through creating online communities where people support each other as they learn and grow their skills. DOG PORTRAITS: These are acrylic paintings, sometimes including the pet owners' portraits. HAND-PAINTED JEWELRY: These are painted on wood with very small brushes and a steady hand. Some include collages.
Barbara Yalof's STATEMENT: I am Senior Core Faculty at American College of Education for master's and doctoral students in educational technology and instructional design programs. I also write and revise courses in these and other areas. My artwork is created with a variety of media; acrylic on canvas, watercolor, multi-media collage, wood, jewelry-making, and printmaking. Using Procreate on my iPad, I create digital illustrations and video. Whether the work is a commissioned one or work drawn from imagination, a wry sense of humor is an essential ingredient.
